Research
The first research strategy I used was to conduct a needs assessment behind the fashion industry and researched about how people find it difficult to find fashionable yet sustainable clothes to fill their wardrobe.Competitive Analysis to gain insight into users’ issues with platforms like these. I also carried out interviews with a people who are focused towards environment which widened my perspective and allowed me several different problems to work upon.

Main findings :
-
Consumers prefer to buy new products from firms that are committed to sustainability over secondhand products from their peers.
-
Consumers are willing to seek out clothing that is manufactured in an environmentally, socially, or ethically sensitive manner.
User Personas
Problem Insight
The way the fashion industry currently operates, serious concerns are often raised the way fashion industry operate:(exploitative labour, environmental damage, the use of hazardous chemicals, waste, and animal cruelty.)
-
Lack of fashion sense and its hard to select from sustainable outfits.
-
Customers do not have the option to select sustainability preferences for the specific cause they believe in.
-
Customers need a suggestions on the outfits that might go with their complexions, they find is very dfficult to make a choice by themselves.

Storyboarding and Information Architecture
With all of the research approaches used previously, my teammates and I convened with our lead and devised a wide structure. So I opted to work on the information architecture, which allowed me to precisely define all the functionalities and flow of the product.
Sketch up !
This is where we go crazy with the ideas. You can explore absolutely anything, and that’s where brilliant ideas come from anyway.
Wireframing
I believe problem-solving and sketching are interlinked in product design — I say this because I sometimes come up with alternate and better solutions in this phase than the research phase. Each iteration taught me something insightful and helped me create a better version next time.
Usability Testing
In product design, I believe problem-solving and sketching are intertwined — I say this because I frequently come up with other and superior answers during this phase rather than during the research phase. Each iteration taught me something new and aided in the creation of a better version the next time around.
Following the testing, I conducted a Heuristic Evaluation, which enabled me to identify various usability issues that users encountered while interacting with the site. The following were the outcomes:
-
Need more options to select complexion to make choice for sustainability preferences.
-
Confused why size and fit consideration option was required.
-
Was confused about Instagram shop and website to place the order.

Visual Design
We generated final designs for Modest based on those wireframes and what we learned through usability testing. Inspiration came from a variety of places, including existing platforms like Medium, Waggle, and PetBacker, as well as design efforts on Behance and Dribbble.
This project allowed me to practice critical thinking, attention to detail, and human-centered design thinking to consider all the useful features I could add to the platform. It wasn't simple to get the UX of all of these elements just right. Following are some key insights from our process:
What did I discover?
-
Data-driven design is essential since it leads to the creation of highly relevant experiences for individuals.
-
To solve the difficulties, particularly the carbon footprint, sustainable options are required.
-
A competent designer has a propensity towards action - he or she fails quickly and iterates quickly!
